This film centers on two sisters, and thier conflicting views of sex and relationships... views based on their religious views and modern realities. Mathilda, the married sister (Elsa Zylberstein), is bound by old sexual customs that leave her frightened and frigid. Curiously, she learns how to pleasure her husband with lessons from the woman (played by veteran actress Aurore Clément) who administers the Mikva, or religious bath. 18-year-old Laura (Fanny Valette) is torn between her orthodox upbringing and her philosophy studies that open up a whole new world to her. Besieged by blossoming sexual desires, Laura falls for a young Muslim, a powerfully taboo relationship in her community.
